HRA Senior Colby MotleyHampton Roads Academy is proud to announce that Colby Motley ’24 has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) and officially committed to playing baseball for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

Colby, a dedicated member of the HRA Varsity Baseball team from 10th to 12th grade, has not only showcased exceptional athletic prowess but has also emerged as a true leader both on and off the field.

Colby’s journey with the HRA Varsity Baseball team has been marked by outstanding achievements. As a Co-Captain during his junior year, he demonstrated exemplary leadership, a role he will continue to fulfill during his senior year. Colby’s impact on the team extends beyond his leadership role – he has consistently been the leading hitter in both batting average and power numbers since joining the team.

A returning All-Conference player, Colby’s commitment to excellence is evident in his dedication to the sport. Over the course of his three years at HRA, he has matured significantly, evolving into a model Captain and teammate. His willingness to share his knowledge with younger players, offering guidance on both offensive and defensive play, reflects his commitment to the team’s success.
