Celebrate Your Lasting Connection to HRA

Hampton Roads Academy alumni reunions are vibrant and nostalgic events that bring together former students from various graduating classes to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate their shared experiences. These events not only strengthen the bonds among alumni, but also reinforce their lifelong connection to HRA, ensuring that the spirit of their school days lives on through enduring friendships and lasting memories. 2025-2026 Reunions

Homecoming weekend 2025 was a blast! With over 200 guests in attendance, turnout for Friday evening’s All-Alumni Tailgate before the varsity football game was phenomenal. Alumni reconnected with old friends and cheered on their fellow HRA graduate, Coach David Legg ’80, as the Navigators took the field against Atlantic Shores Christian School. The following night, the Classes of 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020 kept the fun going at our on-campus reunion party, where they shared laughs, enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres, and reminisced about their HRA days.

We can’t wait to see our fellow Navigators back on campus next fall!

The Class of 1965 invites all alumni from the first five classes in HRA’s history (’61-’65) to a 60th+ anniversary celebration at the on-campus reunions event at HRA on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Campus tours will be offered starting at 5:00 pm on Saturday as well. Also join us for the All-Alumni Tailgate party on campus from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 17.

The Class of 1970 invites and encourages all class members to attend all Homecoming events this year: the All-Alumni Tailgate party on Friday, October 17 (5:00-7:00 pm), the football game to follow, and the on-campus reunions party on Saturday, October 18 (6:00-8:00 pm).  There will be campus tours starting at 5:00 pm on Saturday as well.

The Class of 1980 will meet up at the school and enjoy the All-Alumni Tailgate reception on Friday afternoon, October 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. We will then head over to the football stadium to support Coach Legg in the Homecoming game against Atlantic Shores Christian School. The alumni halftime line-up will take place at approximately 7:30.

On Saturday, we will gather at the school in the early evening (6:00-8:00 pm) and enjoy Chef’s culinary small plates. Campus tours will be offered starting at 5:00 pm on Saturday for anyone interested. Afterward, Myra and David Legg will kindly host an “after party” at their home, which will be a BYOB event.

Friday, October 17:

All are invited to attend the complimentary All-Alumni Tailgate party at HRA from 5:oo to 7:00 pm. The Homecoming football game will follow at 7:00, with an alumni halftime line-up at approximately 7:30.

Saturday, October 18:

Campus tours will be available at 5:00 pm. Then, at 6:00 pm, a Class of 2015 reunion will be held at Salsa’s Mexican Restaurant, City Center.  Entry is free, of course. Dinner and drinks are “Dutch”—cover your own costs.

The Class of 2020 will celebrate its 5-year reunion with a happy hour at Salsa’s Mexican Grill in Newport News on Monday, December 22, at 5:00 pm. Come join us to grab drinks and catch up! Feel free to bring guests and spread the word to anyone else in the class.
