The goal of Hampton Roads Academy’s Lower School is to nurture a passion for learning. Our challenging and rigorous curriculum includes fundamental skills in reading, writing, mathematics and science to build a strong academic base and teach critical thinking. Students in Pre-K through Grade Four flourish in a supportive and creative environment, guided by dedicated and knowledgeable teachers who prioritize their growth and success.

Our Middle School provides a solid foundation in core subjects to prepare students in Grades Five through Eight for Upper School and beyond. The curriculum at Hampton Roads Academy’s Middle School offers a thorough academic and behavioral foundation, equipping students for the academic challenges of higher education. Beyond academic success, we aim to cultivate a middle school environment where every student feels supported, encouraged and valued daily.

Welcome to HRA’s Upper School, where our diverse curriculum is crafted to prepare students for both college and life beyond the classroom. Our comprehensive educational program emphasizes critical thinking, creativity and effective communication, equipping each student for future success. Our REACH Initiative and dedicated college counseling team help students navigate the college admissions process and make informed decisions about their educational and career paths.

While the college application process can seem overwhelming at first, our aim is to ensure your student is well-informed about their choices, feels supported and properly informed through every stage of the application journey and ultimately gains admission to the college or university of their choice. Our college counselors assist students and their families through each step, from researching potential colleges and guiding your student through testing to making the final decision on where to attend.
