At Hampton Roads Academy, sportsmanship, teamwork and dedication are at the heart of our athletics program. From Middle School to Junior Varsity and Varsity levels, we offer a diverse range of sports that cater to every athlete’s passion and skill level. Whether on the field, court or track, our athletic programs provide the perfect platform for growth. Our state-of-the-art athletic facilities include six outdoor athletic fields, tennis courts, two gymnasiums, locker rooms, team rooms, sports medicine center, and a newly renovated track and fitness center.
Students in Grades 5-12 are eligible to join a sport’s team. At HRA, athletics is embedded into the framework of our school tradition, with 70 percent of students participating in one or more sports. We offer a diverse range of sports across Middle School, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. Our athletes and teams have been recognized for their achievements at the conference, state and national levels, with many continuing their athletic careers at prestigious colleges and universities.

With a wealth of experience and a passion for student wellness, our coaches, faculty sports trainer and entire athletics department ensure our student athletes stay in peak condition by providing expert care and personalized training programs. Fill Out Athletics Forms
Find information about our sports schedule, practice times, fitness center hours and the required forms for all athletes. In order to participate in any sport, students and their parents must fill out the necessary forms and waivers before the start of the season and submit them to the portal. The HRA Athletics Department is committed to the health and safety of our athletes before all else. Only students who complete the required health and other forms will be eligible to participate.

As a Safe Sports School, Hampton Roads Academy is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy environment for all our athletes. Under the guidance of our experienced athletic trainer, our sports medicine program offers expert care, injury prevention strategies and personalized rehabilitation services. Our goal is to keep our athletes safe, strong and performing at their best, whether they’re on the field or in the gym.
The HRA
Navigator Club
The Navigator Club is for HRA parents who wish to support our sports programming. Membership enhances our athletes and sports teams by raising money through concessions and other activities to help purchase additional sports equipment and needs that go beyond HRA’s budget. What’s more, membership earns members and their family admission to all regular season home games. Let’s go, Navigators!
