At Hampton Roads Academy, our success is measured by the success of our students—in the classroom, on stage, on the field, and in our community. Our mission is to create an environment where every student can succeed, learn from failure, and grow. We strive to be ambitious and bold while staying true to our mission of preparing students to excel intellectually, artistically, physically, and morally in higher education and life. We are committed to enhancing our academic programs, co-curricular activities, athletics and arts offerings, while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for the social and emotional development of our students. Our goal is to be recognized as a leader in education and student development, and we are dedicated to driving change to better serve our students, faculty, families and community.

Dynamic Program

Hampton Roads Academy prepares students for life in college and beyond by offering a comprehensive program of excellence that includes strong academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities. We foster an environment of honor, integrity, service, diversity, and inclusion. Our goal is to develop curious, creative, critical thinkers and leaders who can communicate effectively and persuasively from a global perspective. We will build upon our strong Pre-K-12 educational program with a focus on innovation and hands-on learning.

We must build and nurture connections with our current families, alumni, and the broader community.

  • Ensure the Board of Trustees works to uphold the vision, mission, and core values of Hampton Roads Academy and secures the school’s long-term sustainability.

Evolving Our Facilities

Our campus supports three unique environments between our lower, middle, and upper schools, each essential to meeting our students’ needs. We will continuously evaluate the effectiveness of our campus, optimizing it to cultivate an environment for teaching and learning while inspiring our students to create, innovate, and collaborate.

  • Manage and maintain our existing facilities through a robust and evolving 5-year maintenance, renovation, and upgrade plan, with ongoing funding commitments.
  • Create a long-term facility plan to support our dynamic program.
  • Ensure our facilities can respond to enrollment needs.
  • Leverage tools and technology to manage and support ongoing maintenance effectively.
