As an independent school, HRA receives no government funding and relies solely on tuition and charitable contributions. Navigator Arts Fund
At Hampton Roads Academy, we honor our student artists in every medium—be it on canvas, on stage or in concert. We view the arts not as a luxury, but as an essential component of a well-rounded education. We believe that robust arts experiences significantly boost a child’s self-esteem and overall academic performance. Therefore, an HRA education is incomplete without the arts. Our curriculum includes a comprehensive, sequentially organized arts program, delivered by specialists from Pre-K through Grade 12.

Navigator Athletics Fund
At Hampton Roads Academy, our strong academic tradition is perfectly complemented by an exceptional athletic program, which plays a crucial role in personal development and enriching campus life. From Grades 5 through 12, HRA offers competitive opportunities on 37 teams, with approximately 70% of our students participating in at least one sport. We believe that every student, regardless of natural athletic ability, can learn, grow and succeed within our teams. Our coaches, who are also educators, form meaningful relationships with students to enhance their overall educational experience.
