The HRA Difference

Board of Trustees

Hampton Roads Academy is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees – community leaders committed to perpetuating the educational mission and philosophy of the school.
Trustees bring their varied expertise – as parents of HRA students, community leaders in their fields and as alumni – to their role. They do not hear complaints, set curriculum, hire or supervise faculty (other than the Head of School), determine individual faculty salaries, or in any way intervene in daily operations.  Trustees have fiduciary responsibilities and implement the school’s vision through a robust strategic planning process. The Board supports the school and its leadership and seeks to advance both.
