Honor Council Ceremony

HRA began the 2014 – 2015 school year with the annual Honor Council Assembly adding new, memorable touches to the ceremony. The ceremony highlights HRA’s Honor Code, a set of standards with the purpose to preserve and promote academic integrity.
A pledge is included on all HRA tests and quizzes and is governed by the Honor Council, the school’s organization of elected students which seeks to preserve the integrity of the Honor Code at HRA.

Setting the stage for the new ceremony, HRA teachers wore graduation robes and joined the students in the Svein J. Lassen Auditorium. Each Upper School student signed their honor pledge at the front of the auditorium. The senior class signed first before moving to the back of the auditorium where they greeted the new freshmen into the Upper School with handshakes.

Mitchell Finch from the HRA Class of 2008, who is currently working toward a law degree at Elon University, served as the guest speaker. Finch highlighted the importance of the Honor Code not only for academic purposes but for life as well. “It all starts with doing little things. Doing little things each day can lead you to doing really good things.” Click here to view photos from the ceremony.
